We have just shot a new campaign for Australia Zoo Africa exhibit . What do they always say, “Never work with kids and animals”? Well try wild animals for size! The talent wasn’t the easiest to direct that I’ve ever had in front of the camera but thanks to help from Wes and all the rest of the staff at the zoo it went as smoothly as it could have. The marketing dept were also a huge help in getting the job done as they organised everything so that we had the best chance to get a stunning result. Justin from Ion once again went above and beyond with the comping and grading of the image to achieve want I think is a set of dynamic strong images.

Here is the new Gold Coast Suns campaign we recently shot for Sapient Nitro to celebrate the launch of the newest AFL franchise. The campaign was designed to encourage the local community to get behind the team and support them in their inaugural season. The shoot done over two days before the start of the season proper was a lot of fun, thanks to a lot of help from the players, staff and fans of the suns. Lindsay Thompson and Mike Kennedy and Dek (for the retouching) from Sapient Nitro were responsible for the campaign but thanks also has to go to everyone at the Suns for letting us go to town on the idea.

A series of images to highlight personal service for rural clients, it was beautifully art directed with lovely a subtlety by Adam Gower (GPYR). The job was given an added complexity as it was to happen in the week that floods hit SE Qld. It was put on hold but once completed it felt crafted (not something we often get these days) and once again Justin Overell provided the grade and retouching to complement the photography.

Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, most notably the guys (Gabe and Mike) from Junior, Debbie Cross and Justin Overell at Ion doing post production, the results are something that we are very proud of.

Shot in Brisbane and Sydney the images involved a large amount of pre-production as there were many elements that needed to be incorporated in each image. The campaign aims to highlight the advantages of the Velocity rewards programme using destinations and products that customers can redeem. The campaign features one central character and his family across a number of scenes. The images can currently be viewed much larger than life on the approach to a number of domestic terminals.

Make communications turned to EWP when it needed imagery for the launch of the new Go Between Bridge for Brisbane City Council. Working with Justin at ION, the team had to first confront the obstacle that the main image, needed to be rolled out first, well in advance of the completion of the bridge. This presented an interesting challenge for the retoucher as the bridge was half painted and covered with quite a bit of equipment. As usual Justin rose to the challenge. As well as this, the sweep and shape of the bridge and how it related to the background elements needed to mirror elements in the other executions.
